BLEACH
Bleach (ブリーチ Burīchi, romanized as BLEACH in Japan) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tite Kubo. Bleach follows the adventures of Ichigo Kurosaki after he accidentally obtains the power of a Soul Reaper—a Japanese death personification similar to the Grim Reaper—from Rukia Kuchiki. Gaining these abilities forces him to take on the duties of defending humans from evil spirits and guiding departed souls to the afterlife.
Bleach has been continuously serialized in the Japanese manga anthology Weekly Shōnen Jumptankōbon volumes as of June 2009. Since its publication, Bleach has spawned a substantial media franchise. The manga has been adapted into an animated television series produced by Studio Pierrot which is still ongoing in Japan as it adapts the story from the manga. Viz Media licensed the manga for English-language publication in the United States and Canada and has released 26 volumes as of April 2009. In addition, it has been publishing the chapters in Shonen Jump since November 2007. On March 15, 2006, Viz obtained foreign television and home video distribution rights to the Bleach anime. Cartoon Network began airing Bleach as part of its Adult Swim block on September 9, 2006 in the United States. The first film, Bleach: Memories of Nobody was released in North America on Region 1 DVD by Viz on October 14, 2008.
Compilation volumes of the manga have sold over 50 million copies in Japan and reached the top of manga sales charts in the United States. The anime adaptation has been similarly received, rating as the 7th most popular anime television series in Japan in 2006, and in the top ten anime for America from 2006 to 2008. The series received the Shogakukan Manga Award for the shōnen demographic in 2005, and is among the best-selling manga properties in both Japan and America.
Production
Bleach was first conceived from a desire on Tite Kubo's part to draw shinigami in kimono, which formed the basis for the design of the Soul Reapers in the series, and the conception of character Rukia Kuchiki.[2][3] The original story concept was submitted to Weekly Shōnen Jump shortly after the cancellation of Tite Kubo's previous manga Zombie Powder, but was rejected. Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, saw the story and wrote a letter of encouragement to Kubo.[3] Bleach was accepted for publication a short time later, in 2001, and was initially intended to be a shorter series, with a maximum serialization length of five years.[3] Early plans for the story did not include the hierarchical structure of Soul Society, but did include some characters and elements which did not come into the plot until the Arrancar arc, such as Ichigo's Soul Reaper heritage.[2] The series was originally meant to be named "Black" due to the color of the Soul Reapers' clothes, but Kubo thought it was too generic. He later tried giving it the name of "White", but came to like more "Bleach" as it was associated with the white color and he did not find it too obvious.[4]
Tite Kubo has cited influences for elements of Bleach ranging from other manga series to music, foreign language, architecture, and film. He attributes his interest in drawing the supernatural and monsters to Shigeru Mizuki's GeGeGe no Kitaro and Bleach's focus on interesting weaponry and battle scenes to Masami Kurumada's Saint Seiya, both manga Kubo enjoyed as a boy.[2] The action style and storytelling found in Bleach is inspired by cinema, though Kubo has not revealed any specific movie as being an influence for fight scenes. When pressed, he told interviewers that he liked Snatch but did not use it as a model.[5] Kubo has also stated that he wishes to make Bleach an experience that can only be found by reading manga, and dismissed ideas of creating any live-action film adaptations of the series.[3]
Bleach's creative process is focused around character design. When writing plotlines or having difficulties generating new material, Kubo begins by thinking of new characters, often en masse, and rereading previous volumes of Bleach.[2][6] Kubo has said that he likes creating characters that have outward appearances that do not match their true nature, an element that can be found in many Bleach characters, as he is "attracted to people with that seeming contradiction" and finds an "urge to draw people like that when I work."[7] The terminology used in Bleach has a variety of inspirations, with each category of character bearing a different linguistic theme. Many of the names for swords and spells used by Soul Reapers were inspired by ancient Japanese literature. Hollows and arrancar use Spanish terms. Kubo became interested in Spanish because, to him, the language sounded "bewitching" and "mellow".[7]
Media
Manga
The chapters of the Bleach manga are written and illustrated by Tite Kubo. In Japan, they have been published in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump since 2001.[8] Since Bleach's premiere, over three hundred chapters have been released in Japan. Most chapter names are in English and have katakana above them to indicate how they are read in Japanese, similar to furigana ruby characters used with advanced kanji characters. In addition to the main series chapters, some chapters are published with a negative chapter number. These "negative" chapters are side stories and consist of events that precede the start of the series.[9] North American licensor Viz Media has been serializing the individual chapters in Shonen Jump since November 2007 in the United States.The individual chapters are collected by Shueisha in a series of tankōbon volumes, which include a poem based on the cover character. The first volume was released on January 5, 2002; as of August 2009, 40 volumes have been released.[11][12]
Viz released the first volume on June 1, 2004, with 27 volumes released as of June 2009.[13][14] The company released a hardcover "collector's edition" of the first volume with a dust jacket on August 5, 2008, followed by a box set on September 2, 2008, containing the first 21 volumes, a poster, and a booklet about the series.
Anime
The episodes of the Bleach anime series are directed by Noriyuki Abe and produced by TV Tokyo, Dentsu, and Studio Pierrot.[17] The episodes have aired since October 5, 2004 on TV Tokyo in Japan.[18] Viz Media obtained the foreign television, home video, and merchandising rights to the Bleach anime from TV Tokyo Corporation and Shueisha on March 15, 2006.[19]Studiopolis to create the English adaptation of the anime,[20] and has licensed its individual Bleach merchandising rights to several different companies.[21] The English adaptation of the Bleach anime premiered on Canada's YTV channel in the Bionix programming block on September 8, 2006. Cartoon Network began airing BleachAdult Swim block.[22] Adult Swim stopped broadcasting new episodes of the English adaptation on October 20, 2007 after airing the first 52 episodes of the series. It was replaced with another Viz Media series, Death Note, to provide Studiopolis more time to dub additional episodes of the series. The series returned from hiatus on March 2, 2008.[23] In the UK, Bleach premiered on AnimeCentral on September 13, 2007, with new episodes airing daily, but is currently on hiatus after airing the first 52 episodes. As of July 2009, 52 DVD compilations have been released by Aniplex in Japan.[24][25] 19 DVD compilations of the English adaptation of the anime have been released by Viz Media,[26][27] and 3 DVD collection boxes have been released that contain the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd seasons of the anime.
CDs
Eleven CD soundtracks, produced by Shirō Sagisu, have been released for the Bleach anime series and movies. Bleach Original Soundtrack 1 was released on May 18, 2005 and contains twenty-five tracks, including the first opening and ending themes in their original television lengths.[30] Bleach Original Soundtrack 2 followed on August 2, 2006 with an additional twenty-three instrumental tracks.[31] Bleach Original Soundtrack 3 followed later on November 5, 2008 with 27 instrumental tracks.[32] Each of the films from the series have also had their own CDs. Bleach: Memories of Nobody Original Soundtrack was released with twenty-five tracks from the Bleach: Memories of Nobody anime film. A soundtrack was also released for the Bleach: The DiamondDust Rebellion film, with nearly thirty tracks from the movie and finally a 3rd one for the "Bleach: Fade To Black, I Call Your Name" movie, with twenty-nine tracks.[33][34][35] Bleach: The Best contains twelve of the opening and ending themes from the series in their full length versions later followed by "Bleach: Best Tunes" with contains the next twelve of opening and ending themes.[36][37]
The Bleach Beat Collections, is an on-going set of CDs published by Sony Music featuring recordings by the original Japanese voice actors that provide a look at the personalities of the characters they play, as well as the voice actors themselves. The first CD was released on June 22, 2005; as of March 2009, 20 volumes have been released across four named sets called "Sessions".[38]
Two "Radio DJCD Bleach 'B' Station" CD season sets, each containing six volumes, have been released in Japan.[39] The third season is still ongoing in Japan.[40] Five drama CDs have been produced for the series as well, featuring the original voice actors from the series. These drama CDs have only been included as part of the DVD releases.
Films
There are three feature films based on the Bleach series, all directed by Noriyuki Abe, director of the Bleach anime series. The films have been released in December of each year starting in 2006. Each movie features an original plotline, rather than being an adaptation of the manga's story. They also feature original characters designed by Tite Kubo, which is contrary to the normal practice for anime-based films, as the original author usually has little creative involvement.[41]
The first film, Bleach: Memories of Nobody, was released in Japan on December 16, 2006 and had a limited release in American theaters in June 2008.[42][43] The movie is centered around the activities of a group called the "Dark Ones," who were banished from the Soul Society and trying to destroy both Soul Society and the World of the Living. Memories of Nobody was released in North America on Region 1 DVD by Viz Media on October 14, 2008.[44]
The second film, Bleach: The DiamondDust Rebellion, was released to Japanese theaters on December 22, 2007.[45] It will be released in America on DVD on September 8, 2009. Its plot focuses on an artifact belonging to Soul Society's King, and 10th Division captain Tōshirō Hitsugaya's efforts to clear his name after it is stolen while under his care.[46]
The third film, Bleach: Fade to Black, I Call Your Name, was released in Japan on December 13, 2008. In the film, members of Soul Society are struck with amnesia causing them to forget Ichigo and Rukia. When he goes to Soul Society to investigate, Ichigo discovers that Rukia has forgotten not only him, but her own identity as well.[47]
Musical
Bleach has been adapted into a series of rock musicals, jointly produced by Studio Pierrot and Nelke Planning. There have been five musicals produced which covered portions of the Substitute and Soul Society arcs, as well as two additional performances known as "Live Bankai Shows" which did not follow the Bleach plotline. The musicals are directed by Takuya Hiramitsu, with a script adaptation by Naoshi Okumura and music composed by playwright Shoichi Tama. The songs are completely original and not taken from the anime soundtrack. Key actors in the series include Tatsuya Isaka, who plays Ichigo Kurosaki, Miki Satō, who plays Rukia Kuchiki, and Eiji Moriyama, who plays Renji Abarai.[51]
Trading card game
Two collectible card games (CCG) based on the Bleach series have been produced. "Bleach Soul Card Battle", produced by Bandai, was introduced in Japan in 2004.[52] As of October 2008, seventeen named sets have been released for the series.[53]
"Bleach TCG" was introduced in the United States by Score Entertainment in May 2007,[54] but ceased publication April 2009, just before the planned launch of its sixth expansion, "Bleach Infiltration".[55] This cancellation was attributed to the ongoing recession, which has heavily affected TCG sales.[55] Designed by Aik Tongtharadol, the TCG is a two-player game in which each player starts with at least 61 cards: a "Guardian" card, a 60-card "main deck" and an optional 20-card "side deck". A player loses if their power, as dictated by their Guardian card, is reduced to zero, or if they are unable to draw or discard a card from their deck.[56] The cards for the game have been released in named sets with each set released in three formats: a 72-card pre-constructed box set containing a starter deck and two booster packs, a 10-card booster pack, and a 12-pack booster box. As of December 2008, six named sets have been released.[57]
Video games
Currently, the majority of the games have only been released in Japan, though Sega has localized the first and second Nintendo DS game and the first Wii game for North America.[58] So far, all dedicated Bleach games released for Sony's consoles have been developed and published by SCEI, whereas the Nintendo GameCube ones are developed and published by Sega, and the Nintendo DS versions are developed by Treasure Co. Ltd..[59][60]
Other
A single Bleach artbook, All Colour But The Black, has been released in Japan and America. The artbook compiles a selection of color spreads from the first 19 volumes of the series, as well as some original art and author commentary.[61][62]
Three databooks have also been released about the series. The first two, Bleach: Official Character Book Souls and Bleach: Official Animation Book Vibes were released on February 3, 2006.[63][64] Bleach: Official Character Book Souls was later released in English by Viz on November 18, 2008.[65] The third databook, Bleach Official Bootleg: KaraBuri+ (BLEACH OFFICIAL BOOTLEG カラブリ プラス), was released on August 3, 2007. In addition to character guides and articles on other fictional aspects of the series, it compiles the various short comics, Tedious Everyday Tales Colorful Bleach (徒然日常絵詞 カラフル ブリーチ Tsuredure Nichijou Ekotoba Karafuru Buriichi), that were published in V Jump. The omake-style panels are similar to those included in the main series, but unrelated to the actual plot of the manga.[66]
Tite Kubo and Makoto Matsubara have co-authored two novelizations of the Bleach series, which were published by Shueisha under their Jump Books label. The first volume, BLEACH-letters from the other side: The Death and The Strawberry was published on December 15, 2004, and the second, BLEACH: The Honey Dish Rhapsody, was published in October 30, 2006.[67][68]
Reception
The first volume of the manga has sold over 1.25 million copies in Japan, and the original Japanese version of the manga series as a whole has sold over 50 million copies.[69][dead link] In 2005, Bleach was awarded the Shogakukan Manga Award in the shōnen category.[70][71] As of May 2007, the manga has sold a total of 39,000,000 copies, ranking as the 14th bestseller series from Weekly Shonen Jump.[72] During 2008, volume 34 of the manga sold 874,153 copies in Japan, becoming the 12th best-seller comics from the year. Volumes 33 and 35 have also ranked 17 and 18, respectively.[73] In total the manga has sold 3,161,825 copies in Japan during 2008, becoming 5th best seller series.[74] In the first half from 2009, it ranked as the 2nd best-seller manga from Japan, having sold 3,568,545 copies.[75] Having sold 927,610 copies, Volume 36 ranked 7th. Volume 37 was 8th with 907,714 sold copies, and volume 38 at 10th with 822,238 copies.[76] North American sales of the manga have been high, with Volume 16 placing in the top 10 graphic novel sales in December 2006[77] and Volume 17 being the best-selling manga volume for the month of February 2007.[78][79] The English version of the manga was nominated for the "best manga" and "best theme" awards at the 2006 and 2007 American Anime Awards, but did not win either category.[citation needed]
Deb Aoki from About.com considered the series as the Best Continuing Shōnen Manga of 2007, along with Eyeshield 21, praising the "compelling stories, dazzling action sequences and great character development". She also placed the title on her list of "Top 10 Shōnen Manga Must-Reads". Mania.com reviewer Jarred Pine criticized the series as being plagued with stereotypes from the genre. He felt it was a rough start for the series with unimpressive battles, overused gags, and a bad introduction for central character Ichigo that causes him to come across "as a frowning punk" whose one good trait is his desire to protect. Despite this, Pine notes that he loves the series, particularly its quirky, lovable characters.
The anime been featured various times in the top ten from the Japanese TV Ranking.DVDs have also had good sales having commonly appeared in the Japanese DVD Ranking. The anime was nominated in the 2007 America Anime Awards in the fields of "best manga", "best actor", "best DVD package design", and "best theme", but failed to win any awards. In a 2006 Internet poll by TV Asahi, Bleach was ranked as Japan's seventh-favorite anime program. The previous year, it was ranked as the twenty-seventh favorite programDuring February 2009, Bleach ranked as the 9th most viewed animated show from Hulu.
Anime News Network's Carlos Santos praised the anime adaptation, describing it as "...one incredibly entertaining anime that will grab you and refuse to let go." Animefringe's Maria Lin liked the varied and distinct characters, and how well they handle the responsibilities increasing powers give them. She also complimented the series for its attention to details, well paced script, and balance of seriousness and comedy. In summary, she notes "Bleach the anime deserves its popularity. It has something for everyone: the supernatural, comedy, action and a little bit of romance, all tied together with excellent animation and a very enthusiastic sounding bunch of voice actors."[93] Adam Arseneau of DVD Verdict, felt Bleach was a "show that only gets better with age" and was "surprisingly well-rounded and appealing" with well developed characters and pacing.[94] Active Anime's Holly Ellingwood praising the anime for perfectly capturing "the excitement, the caustic humour and supernatural intrigue" of the original manga. She felt that the series "does a wonderful job of building on its continuity to provide increasingly tense and layered episodes involving not only Ichigo and Rukia, but the secondary characters as well".[96]In reviewing the series for DVD Talk, Don Houston felt the characters surpassed the usual shōnen anime stereotypes and liked "the mixture of darker material with the comedic". Another Fellow reviewer John Sinnott felt series starts out as a boring "monster-of-the-week program" that becomes more engaging as the stories build and the characters are fleshed out.[100] Otaku USA''s Joseph Luster wrote that "the storylines are consistently dramatic without hammering it home too heavily, the characters manage comic relief that's not as eye rolling as one would expect, and the action (in classic fighting series form) has only gotten more ridiculous over the years; in a good way, of course".[101] Mania.com's Bryce Coulter praised the series for its plot twists and "the quirky and amusing characters". In comparing the series with Naruto, Mania.com's Chris Beveridge felt Bleach was less childish and "simply comes together surprisingly well in its style and execution of what is fairly standard material". She also praised the series for its striking visual effects, intriguing plot and its "brilliant blend of action, off the wall comedy.

last sunday on 23/8 ....i went to pui yen's birthday .......i was like shit and forced to wear a tux ...but nvm .....then when i reached at ms garden suddenly someone open the door ...i thought of slapping himm...but it was the guard ....i dunno y they think we all so stupid dunno how to open the door wan ah ....i know lah how .....but nvm forget that ...went and saw Lim,wayne and foo waiting for me ....foo was like a gangster ......wayne was damn nice .......lim oklah......later darren the hebat datang ...he wear like wan to go pasar malam ........then we wait lah for a long long time for pui yen ....before she arrive ..i think wayne go toilet like 5 times dy just to betulkan his rambut....later i wayne all when front at the lobby to wait for pui yen ..suddenly Karren,Ivy , jia min and the gang all come ....wayne was like wan to faint when he saw Ivy and karen ........lim was laughing ...foo emolah macam biasa.....then karen ejek me telling that i was like going to marry ...jia min was remembering my name ...ivy was laughing ...what to do my life like that dy .....so i wayne all go toilet again .....this time darren bring his psp and we played bleach game in the toilet...later just after come out the toilet ..pui yen was running ....so we also follow lah .....then wayne baik hati saw a boy jumping to take a ballon so wayne tollong but the boy never say thanks you and he went ......wayne say nvm dah biasa...then wayne malu wan to go inside .....so we wait until everyone go inside then we go ..but nasib malang no table .......so darren was hoping that he could sit near the food so so that he can be the first and his hajat came true...so we sat near to the food .....then karen sat beside wayne and wayne was like so damn happy ...i dunno why ...so while waiting for the eating time to come ...first i played psp...then jia min asked what is my name she thought that naidu was my father's name ...so she call me ruheine a/l naidu ...then after memberi keterangan yang panjang then only she understand my name ..then we watch someone mubbling infront and pui yen cut the cake ...it was ok ...so came the food part ...and darren was the first to take the plate ,....he was so happy ......i and wayne waited till the people are less then we go take food .......the food was damn nice....darren ate 5 plate and 3 bowl of mushroom sup .... he was worse than shu ern (jgn marah shu ern) ...........then wat to do .....wayne call me to go toilet again ....after that we masuk dalam they all start to catch photo .....wayne and karen took like 50 pictures together .....i pulak ...sit there in the dark laughing with lim and darren while foo waas emoing to show his kehandsomeness.......after that i ate 10 piece of cake .....darren was laughing like hell.....but still i wan to write wat happen but it will be terlalu panjang and now my mom is shouting asking me to study .....so he kesimpulan .........there was a who paling lawa pakaian ...and ivy won ....the she was forced to do cat walk and she did it ..hahahha........it was 11.30 dy that time ...i was like wan to die dy ..so tepat the party finish i wen back .....it was fun ...if you wan to see more pictures u can go to my facebook ......there got alot .....rox's and ivy's also got alot

Malam Merdeka
Sebelum pemasyhuran kemerdekaan Tanah Melayu dibuat, pada 30 Ogos 1957 pukul 12.00 tengah malam di Padang Kelab Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, telah diadakan upacara menurunkan bendera Union Jack bagi menandakan berakhirnya penjajahan British di Tanah Melayu dan lahirnya sebuah negara baru yang berdaulat, setaraf dan setimpal dengan semua negara-negara yang berdaulat di dunia. Bendera Persekutuan Tanah Melayu telah dinaikkan oleh anggota Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia (TLDM) sambil disaksikan sendiri oleh Tunku Abdul Rahman.
Upacara Pengisytiharan
Pada 31 Ogos 1957 bertempat di stadium yang baru dirasmikan iaitu Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur telah menyaksikan peristiwa bersejarah bagi Tanah Melayu iaitu secara rasminya penyerahan pemerintahan Persekutuan Tanah Melayu daripada pemerintahan British kepada warganegara Tanah Melayu.
Hujan lebat yang turun sejak 3 pagi menyukarkan pergerakan dan sehingga 6.30 pagi, stadium masih belum dipenuhi oleh pengunjung. Ini menyebabkan upacara telah ditangguhkan selama sejam dan pengumuman majlis bermula kedengaran bukan pada pukul tujuh seperti yang dijangka tetapi pada pukul lapan. 2,000 orang tentera Persekutuan menumpang di sekolah-sekolah berhampiran stadium sebelum itu berarak dalam hujan dan tujuh batalion yang membuat perarakan ketika itu iaitu Rejimen Persekutuan, Skuadron Isyarat, Skuadron Jurutera, Tentera Laut Diraja Tanah Melayu, Tentera Laut Simpanan Diraja Tanah Melayu dan Askar Sivil Persekutuan.
Pada pukul 8, para media telah diberi pengumuman untuk bersedia dan semua peralatan kamera dan media ketika itu dipasang dengan perlindungan plastik atau pelapik kalis air lain di sekitar padang yang lembap. Kebetulan, hujan reda yang memungkin segala persiapan sebelum upacara bermula dapat dijalankan dengan mudah. Pengunjung bertambah ramai untuk menyaksikan upacara bersejarah ini.
Antara kumpulan pengunjung yang tiba di stadium adalah Kadet, Pengakap Laut (dengan pakaian putih, topi putih dan seluar pendek berwarna biru), Pandu Puteri (berpakaian biru muda), Pengakap (dengan kain skaf, berwarna merah dan emas, merah dan hitam, merah dan biru, merah dan putih), Pasukan Briged St. John's Ambulance dan Palang Merah British turut mengambil tempat di sisi stadium manakala kumpulan pancaragam dan pengawal kehormat berada di susur terowong masuk.
Kemudian, tetamu-temamu kehormat mula tiba Lord Chancellor dari England berpakaian yang sama seperti ketika dia menjadi hakim Mahkamah Tinggi Persekutuan. Pemangku Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan merupakan Raja Melayu yang pertama berangkat tiba diikuti Tengku Mahkota Johor (dalam pakaian uniform tentera baginda) yang menggantikan Sultan Johor, Sultan Perak (berpakaian berwarna krim), Sultan Terengganu (berpakaian emas bersama merah gelap dan hijau), Sultan Kelantan (berpakaian emas pucat), Sultan Kedah (berpakaian biru dan perak) Raja Perlis (berpakaian emas), Sultan Pahang (berwarna merah senduduk dan dan perak) serta yang akhir sekali, baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong yang berpakaian perang serta memakai keris yang baru. Setiap daripada baginda diiringi bunyi nafiri dan berdiri di bawah payung kuning keemasan sambil Yang di-Pertuan Agong berjalan ke tempat duduk baginda. Pengunjung stadium masih lagi berdiri apabila Duke of Gloucester masuk sambil diiringi Sir Donald MacGillivray. Dengan ketibaan semua tetamu diraja, upacara Pengisytiharan dimulakan.
Adikung Duke membawa watikah perlembagaan yang menyatakan pengunduran daripada perlindungan British terhadap negeri-negeri Melayu dan kedaulatan terhadap Pulau Pinang dan Melaka. Raja-raja Melayu mula melangkah ke pentas dan Duke mengambil tempat di depan pentas sambil menerima hormat diraja sambil diiringi oleh Sir Donald MacGillivray. Ketika itu merupakan kali terakhir satu-satu upacara negara menyanyikan lagi kebangsaan British di Persekutuan Tanah Melayu. Kemudian, baginda Duke membacakan perutusan daripada baginda Ratu Elizabeth II akan pernyataan baginda yang mengalukan kemasukan Persekutuan ke dalam Komanwel dan mendoakan kejayaan negara ini.
Kemudian, Perdana Menteri Tunku Abdul Rahman bangun dari tempat duduknya dan menerima watikah perlembagaan sebagai lambang penyerahan kuasa pemerintahan sepenuhnya kepada Persekutuan Tanah Melayu. Duke mengambil tempat duduk dan Tunku mulakan ucapannya dalam bahasa Inggeris. Setelah Tunku mengucapkan penghargaan kepada Great Britain akan pertolongan untuk mencapai kemerdekaan, beliau mula membaca teks "Pengisytiharan Kemerdekaan".
Pengisytiharan itu disambut dengan laungan "MERDEKA" 7 kali sebagai Perdana Menteri Persekutuan Tanah Melayu yang pertama di hadapan 20 ribu rakyat Persekutuan Tanah Melayu dan Raja-rajanya serta perwakilan dari 30 negara-negara Komanwel dan negara-negara asing lainnya. Bendera Persekutuan Tanah Melayu telah dinaikkan dengan iringan Lagu Kebangsaan Negaraku yang buat pertama kalinya diperdengarkan secara rasmi dalam sebuah negara baru. Diikuti pula selepas itu dengan seruan azan sebagai simbolik lahirnya sebuah negara yang baru dan tembakan meriam seratus satu das.
Dengan bunyi nobat nafiri, Yang di-Pertuan Agong diiringi oleh Duke of Gloucester, berangkat pergi dari pentas diikiuti oleh pemerintah Melayu yang lain, Perdana Menteri dan Sir Donald MacGillivray. Kemudian, Doa Selamat dibacakan bagi memohon keberkatan dan keredhaan Allah terhadap sebuah negara yang baru dilahirkan
Dengan pengisytiharan itu, maka berakhirlah penjajahan Inggeris dan kuasa Baginda Ratu ke atas Persekutuan Tanah Melayu termasuk Pulau Pinang dan Melaka iaitu sejak lebih 170 tahun. Pada hari itu juga Pesuruhjaya Tinggi British terakhir di Persekutuan Tanah Melayu, Sir Donald MacGillivray dan isterinya telah meninggalkan negara ini dan pulang ke England.
Kandungan Pemasyhuran Kemerdekaan
Bahawasanya kerana telah tibalah masanya bagi umat Persekutuan Tanah Melayu ini mencapai taraf suatu bangsa yang merdeka lagi berdaulat sama setimpal kedudukannya dengan segala bangsa seluruh dunia.
Dan bahawasanya kerana dengan perjanjian yang disebut namanya Perjanjian Tanah Melayu tahun 1957 yang diperbuat antara Duli Yang Maha Mulia Baginda Queen dengan Duli-Duli Yang Maha Mulia Raja-Raja Melayu, maka, telah dipersetujui bahawa Negeri-negeri Melayu, iaitu Johor, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Kedah, Perlis, Kelantan, Terengganu, dan Perak serta negeri yang dahulunya dinamakan Negeri Selat, iaitu Melaka dan Pulau Pinang, mulai 31 hari bulan Ogos tahun 1957, hendaklah menjadi sebuah Persekutuan baharu bagi negeri-negeri yang bernama Persekutuan Tanah Melayu.
Dan bahawasanya kerana telah bersetuju pula antara kedua-dua pihak dalam perjanjian tersebut, iaitu Melaka dan Pulau Pinang hendaklah daripada tarikh tersebut itu tamat daripada menjadi sebahagian daripada jajahan takluk Baginda Queen, dan Duli Yang Maha Mulia Baginda Queen tidak lagi berhak menjalankan apa-apa kedaulatan baginda ke atas kedua-dua buah negeri yang tersebut itu.
Dan bahawasanya kerana telah bersetuju pula antara kedua-dua pihak yang tersebut, iaitu Perjanjian Persekutuan Tanah Melayu tahun 1948, dan segala peranjian yang lain yang ada sekarang antara Duli Yang Maha Mulia Baginda Queen dengan Duli-Duli Yang Maha Mulia Raja-Raja ataupun salah seorang daripada baginda itu sebelum tarikh yang tersebut hendaklah dibatalkan mulai daripada tarikh itu, dan semua kuat kuasa dan hak Duli Yang Maha Mulia Baginda Queen ataupun Parlimen Negeri United Kingdom dalam Negeri-Negeri Selat ataupun Persekutuan Tanah Melayu seluruhannya adalah tamat dengan sendirinya.
Dan bahawasanya kerana Duli Yang Maha Mulia Baginda Queen, Duli-Duli Yang Maha Mulia Raja-Raja Melayu, Parlimen Negeri United Kingdom dan Majlis-Majlis Undangan Persekutuan dan Negeri-Negeri Melayu telah meluluskannya, Perjanjian Persekutuan Tanah Melayu tahun 1957 itu berjalan kuat kuasanya.
Dan bahawasanya kerana suatu perlembagaan bagi kerajaan Persekutuan Tanah Melayu telah ditentukan menjadi suatu kanun yang muktamad baginya.
Dan bahawasanya kerana Perlembagaan Persekutuan yang tersebut itu, maka, ada disediakan syarat untuk menjaga keselamatan hak-hak dan keutamaan Duli-Duli Yang Maha Mulia Raja-Raja serta hak-hak asasi dan kebebasan sekalian rakyat dan untuk memajukan Persekutuan Tanah Melayu dengan aman dan damai serta teratur sebagai sebuah kerajaan yang mempunyai Raja yang Berperlembagaan yang berdasarkan demokrasi cara Parlimen.
Dan bahawasanya kerana Perlembagaan Persekutuan yang diadakan oleh Majlis Undangan Persekutuan yang tersebut itu telah diluluskan oleh suatu undang-undang yang diadakah oleh Majlis Undangan Persekutuan serta dengan undang-undang yang diadakan oleh negeri-negeri Melayu dan dengan ketetapan-ketetapan dalam Majlis Undangan Negeri Melaka dan Pulau Pinang, dengan demikian Perlembagaan itu telah berjalan kuat kuasanya pada 31 hari bulan Ogos tahun 1957.
Maka, dengan nama Allah yang Maha Pemurah lagi Maha Mengasihani, saya Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra ibni Almarhum Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah, Perdana Menteri bagi Persekutuan Tanah Melayu, dengan persetujuan dan perkenan Duli-Duli Yang Maha Mulia Raja-Raja negeri-Negeri Melayu dengan ini memasyhurkan dan mengisytiharkan bagi pihak umat Persekutuan Tanah Melayu bahawa mulai Tiga Puluh Satu hari bulan Ogos Tahun Seribu Sembilan Ratus Lima Puluh Tujuh, maka Persekutuan Tanah Melayu yang mengandungi Negeri Johor, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Kedah, Perlis, Kelantan, Terengganu, Perak, Melaka dan Pulau Pinang dengan limpah rahmat Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala akan kekal menjadi sebuah negara yang merdeka dan berdaulat serta berdasarkan kebebasan dan keadilan dan sentiasa menjaga dan mengutamakan kesejahteraan dan kesentosaan rakyatnya dan mengekalkan keamanan antara segala bangsa.
